Bitter sweet celebrations

Nigel Wright's Jesus Christ - the Alpha and the OmegaIts been a great Easter weekend. Obviously the amazing weather helped – but there were deeper reasons – and a lot of it for me was connected to how I used Lent

I have never really ‘done Lent’ before but I have been very challenged by how some of my neighbours mark Ramadan.  So this year I decided to give up drinking and use a Lent book each day with readings and reflections.  I found the discipline of both really helpful and it brought the whole season alive in a different way than I have experienced before.

The book was by Nigel Wright and it is called Jesus Christ – The Alpha and the Omega.  I would really recommend it for 2012 – very readable but challenging as each day it focus’s on a different aspect of Jesus character and his achievement.
